Berkeley Open Preview

In the words of Joey Nunes, "The track juices are flowing now!" It's almost time for our first meet of the year, and we'll be traveling to UC Berkeley to compete in the 2009 Cal All-Comers Meet. It's a totally open meet, so anybody can compete, but this early in the season, it is just nice to get your spikes and your uniform on and see where you are at racing-wise.

All the men will be running in the 2 Mile, vying for February's Fastest Warrior, and the women will be splitting up into the 800, 1500, and 2 mile distances. There should be some decent competition, as this is the only meet this early in the season, so we'll probably see athletes from a lot of Bay Area JC's, as well as some local road racers who want to get fast race in before the season really heats up. Overrall, the meet will be a good indicator of where our fitness is at and what areas we need to work on.
