Berkeley Open Results

At 68 degrees and sunny with little to no wind, the Berkeley Open was a great meet to open the season with. CSUS was the only full collegiate team in attendance, but for a rinky-dink meet such as this, there was plenty of competition and excellent conditions.

On the men's side, they all enjoyed a fast-paced 3200 with competition from University of San Francisco runners and some men from the West Valley Track Club. Dan Vorderbruegge was the first Warrior across the line, coming in 8th overall and posting a 9:31. He was followed by Silent Ninja Gutierrez and Jnunes4, finishing in 9:36 and 9:38. Next for the Warriors was Senor Martin, Redneck Brookshire, and Get Some Thiele, crossing in 9:40, 9:42, and 10:03 respectively.

For the women, Marissa Hager posted a smashing time in the 400, running a 62 for a great pre-season tune up. Rubye "Yukon" Foldager won her heat and the beat the entire field in the 800, pulling off a 2:22 to burn away all followers. The rest of our crew jumped in a scrambling 3200 in which they combined all the men, women, children, and old ladies for a crazy 60 person race. Denali "Klondike" Foldager was the first Warrior across in 11:56, closely followed by a behemoth pack of lady Warriors.
